We will post the winners on Sunday night.

I created two very similar cards for the blog hop using one of our brand new slimline die sets. Because, if you're making one card, why not make two?!

The new dies that I used are called Slimline Honeycomb dies, and they are so fun and unique!
Besides the beautiful detailed honeycomb patterned die, there is a shaped background die, as well as some additional coordinating "extras."

I took the obvious traditional approach, and paired the dies with the Buzzy Beez stamps and dies.
But you will find yourself getting "artzy" with these dies, and using them for so many other themes!

For the backing portion of the die cuts I wanted to created a watercolor effect. I swiped some liquid watercolors in shades of yellows and oranges onto a piece of watercolor paper, and diecut my background die twice.

I stamped, colored, and diecut several of the images from the Buzzy Beez set.
I love adding shimmer to the bees wings!

I diecut the honeycomb patterned die out of black cardstock and adhered them to my watercolored
backing pieces.
After creating card bases that are 8 1/2" x 3 1/2", I assembled my cards, using yellow cardstock for the bottom strips, and stamping them with sentiments from the Buzzy Beez and Honey Bears stamp sets.
I think these birthday cards would be perfect for anyone on your list!

Thanks for stopping by!
Your next stop on the hop is Teri's blog.
We hope you are inspired along the way!

  3. I love your cards. Thanks for sharing your technique on how you created the great background. I also like how you grouped the little bees with the pot and beehive on one side and put the larger bee on the other side. It really makes the larger one look like he is in the foreground flying off the card.
