Split Circles

 Hi Artzy friends -

Today's cards feature some of the pretty papers in one of the newest collections from Dare 2B Artzy, and a fun technique I recently learned from Splitcoast Stampers and Lydia Fiedler.

The papers I used are all from the Make Waves collection. Even the jellyfish are cut from the paper with the Jellyfish die set. One very cool feature about many Dare 2B Artzy products is that the dies cut the images from the coordinating stamp set , as well as from the paper! It's such a great option when you want to make a quick card, and/or don't want to do a lot of coloring!

The technique I used for these cards is called the Split Circle technique. You get semicircle parts to make two cards using this technique. You can see the other two cards I created on my next blog post!

The first time I tried it, I didn't exactly follow the directions. I went a little rogue and ended up having to use my semicircles for slimline cards. Let's just call it a "happy accident!"

For my next card I created an A2 card, by more carefully following the directions in the tutorial. I really like both options and think they create endless possibilities by choosing different patterns and colors of papers.

The sentiments I used for both cards are from the Sea Horses stamp set. I think it's great that all of the sentiments can pair with any of the images in the collection!

I hope you love the colors and patterns in this collection as much as I do!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!
