Scent With Love

 Hi Artzy friends -

Even though Valentine's Day has passed, it's always a good time to send a card to a loved one to let them know you're thinking of them! 

One of the new die cover plates that Dare 2B Artzy has recently released is this Quilted Flower Background die that can be used any time of the year and for any card to add some pretty details to your background. I love the combination of cutout flowers and pierced design in this die! And you can save the little pieces that cut out as confetti or shaker bits for a future project!

                           

For my card I cut my Quilted Flower background out of white cardstock, put a pink layer behind it, and matted the whole panel on dark gray. I colored and die cut this cute skunk with his flower pot from the Stinking' Happy stamps and dies and popped him up on my card panel.  I  also stamped my sentiment from the same set on a white strip and adhered that to my card.

Friends Are Like Wildflowers

 Hi Artzy friends-

One of my favorite new slimline dies from Dare 2B Artzy is the Slimline Wildflower background die. It's so pretty and detailed and can be used for many styles of slimline cards.

I created a card for a friend by adding this cute skunk and sentiment from the Stinkin' Happy stamp and dies sets.

The background paper,  cut with the framelit die that comes with the Wildflower die, is the from the Summertime Petals collection. 

To finish off the card I added some blue Liquid Pearls to the centers of the flowers on the die cut.

Scent With Love

Hi Artzy friends-

Today I am sharing a card using a cute image from Dare 2B Artzy on a fun, new-to-me, card fold.

I learned how to make this type of card from my friend Kathy. I did a little searching to try to figure out what this fold is called. All I came up with was "pull-out card." I'm not certain that this is correct, since there are several other types of cards also called pull-out cards. So if you happen to have another name for this card fold, please leave me a comment! The inner portion of this card is similar to a Z-fold card, so maybe I'll call it a "pull-out Z-fold card!"

The image on this card is from the Stinkin' Happy stamp set. The dies that cut the images in this set, Skunk die, also cut the images in the Feeling Stinky stamp set, which has similar images, but different sentiments to mix and match with your skunks.

 

To create the front of this card I used a rectangle die to cut a window into my A2 card base (medium blue.) I created a frame using paper from the Autumn Oasis collection. 

I created the inner portion of the card with white card stock, cut slightly smaller than my A2 card, and folded in a Z shape. I stamped the message inside and adhered it in my blue card base. 

I then created a green and navy blue base layer for my image and positioned it so that it would peek through the frame I cut into my card front, and added a sentiment strip. 

This is what the completed card looks like, opened up, with the focal image "pulled out."

I think this card will be sent to my son for his October birthday, so if you see him, please don't tell him!

Stinkin' Amazing

I'm back with my second guest designer post for Dare 2B Artzy for September!
This card features one of their newer stamp and die sets that I think is just so cute!

There are actually two stamp sets that coordinate with the same die set, which gives you so much versatility without having to break the bank. The set I used is called Stinkin' Happy, and here are the images I colored and die cut from that set. (The other skunk set is called Feeling Stinky)

Isn't he/she cute? Almost makes me want to hug a skunk!

I used some D2BA paper for the background of this card. I love that their papers are all double sided and make it easy to combine patterns, something that I shy away from on my own. This paper is from the Summertime Petals collection, and it combines some of my favorite colors - aqua and pink.
I also die cut a frame using a coordinating solid colored cardstock. I stamped two sentiments from the stamp set as well. This set has several choices to create the sentiment that is appropriate for your card.

I assembled the card, popping up the skunk and the little flower pot.
