Peek-a-Boo Card

 Hi Artzy friends -

Today I am sharing a card I made using a die cutting technique I learned from a video by Julie Ebersole. I don't believe she had a name for it, so I'm calling it a peek-a-boo card!

I used the Buzzy Beez stamp and dies sets to create this card, as well as paper from the All the Buzz collection. My inside sentiment is from the Honey Bears stamp set.

To create this type of card you need to have the coordinating die for the image that you're using as your focal point. I stamped the bee on the front of my card, die cut it out, and stamped it again, through the opening, onto the inside of my card.
You can see here where I have the cutout bee shape on the front of my card, and the colored bee image is actually on the inside of my card.

I cut a mask of the bee image so I could stamp my other two images beside him on the inside. The honey pot and hive on the front were stamped, colored and die cut.

I also added some shimmer to the bee's wings and some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the honey drips.

I cut an A2 panel from my patterned paper and aligned cut outs of the bee as well as an opening for my sentiment, which I popped up.

I've had this card template sitting on my desk for quite some time and now that I've completed the card I can't wait to try one again!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Coffee Date

 Hi Artzy friends -

Who wants to go out for coffee? I prefer iced anytime, (iced mocha!), but especially when the weather is in the 90's, as it's been here in Ohio for the past few days!

I created this card inviting a friend to get together using the Center Step die set from Dare 2B Artzy.

I love that this die set makes it so easy to create a fun fold card, that folds flat to fit into an A2 envelope. And it comes with several additional dies that allow you to embellish your card with lots of fun layers!

My image and sentiment are from the Bistro stamp and die sets. The stamp set has some really fun images to color, as well as some really cute sentiments!

The plaid background paper is from the All The Buzz collection.

Triangle Gatefold, Two Ways

 Hi Artzy friends -

Did you know that Cindy Sartain goes live on Facebook on the Dare 2B Artzy page almost every Monday at 7:30 p.m. Central Time? Her video is always full of great inspiration and tips (and sometimes sneak peeks) using fabulous Dare 2B Artzy products!

If you watched on May 3rd, you saw her share how she makes triangle gatefold cards; and she shared the written dimensions and assembly directions in the Artzy Community Facebook group. Request to join the group if you are not already a member. You can find the measurements in the files.

Because I love trying new-to-me fun folds, I created two triangle gatefold cards - a slimline version, and a mini-slim version.

My slimline card features images from the Seas the Day stamps and dies sets, as well as paper from the Seas the Day collection

On the inside I adhered the white dotted rectangle and the sentiment strip from the Wavy Slimline Framelits die set.

I created a belly band to hold the card closed, mounting my octopus and stamping my sentiment on two diecuts from the Wavy Squares Framelits.

My mini-slim card features images from the Crafty Gnome stamp and die sets, and paper from the All the Buzz collection.

On the inside I used the new Slim Mini Wavy Layers dies to cut the two layers on which my sentiment and additional images are displayed.

I created a belly band for this card as well, again using the Wavy Squares Framelits for my main image and greeting.

I also created my own matching slim-mini envelope with papers from the All the Buzz collection, using Dare 2B Artzy's brand new Slim-Mini Envelope dies!

Don't you love presenting a card/gift that's all color coordinated?!

I hope you will tune in to Cindy's Facebook live's on Monday evenings, and if you can't watch her live you can always catch the replay any time!

There is still time to enter Dare 2B Artzy's challenge for the month of May. The theme is Flowers, and you can earn a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the Dare 2B Artzy store.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Shadow Box Cards

I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's recent post on shadow box cards and wanted to try some of my own using Dare 2B Artzy stamps and dies. I have since picked up some additional tips from Cindy Sartain's recent virtual event where she made an adorable shadow box card too!

Whenever I try a new-to-me interactive card or fun fold card, I start simple, and make a "prototype" using white cardstock. I never want to waste colored or patterned cardstock in case it doesn't work out or I don't enjoy the technique.
Well, I enjoyed making these shadow box cards so much that I couldn't stop, and I made three with some cute Dare 2B Artzy images that I had already colored and die cut!

As I mentioned, my first card base is using white cardstock, and is an A2 size card. It features images from the Raccoon Party stamps and dies, including the cute little "splat" die. I also used the Double Dot Circle die to cut out the window in the front of the card.

The raccoon is suspended from a strip of acetate attached to the left side of the shadow box.

The next card is also fairly simple but I covered the front and inside panels with paper from the All the Buzz collection. The image and sentiment are from Puppy Kisses. The sentiment banner is created with a die from the Wavy Slimline Framelit set. This is a 5" x 7" card.

This puppy is attached to the back of the card with an action wobble spring.

My final shadow box card is also 5" x 7" and was created with images from the Honey Bunny stamp and die sets.
The grass "hill" was cut with a die from the Curvy Slimline Border dies. The patterned papers are from the  Home Grown collection.

The bunny is suspended on a strip of acetate attached to the right side of the shadow box.

There is no limit to the amount of layers and dimension you can achieve with a shadow box card. I'm excited to try some more complex designs in the near future!

I hope you are inspired to try a new-to-you technique or card fold using Dare 2B Artzy stamps and dies!

Dare 2B Artzy 2020 Favorites

 Hi Artzy friends-

Looking back on my creations for this year, it appears that many of my favorites all featured bees, bears, and of course, honey!

These bears with their honey pots from the Honey Bears stamp set have been perfect for cards all year long, but I especially loved pairing them with this pretty spring paper from the All the Buzz collection.

This card was was so much fun to make, featuring more papers from the All the Buzz collection, and an adorable bee from the Buzzy Beez stamp set.

Here is another fun card featuring bees from the Buzzy Beez and Honey Bears stamps and dies, with my own stenciled background.

This Bear Hugs set was just what we needed this year to makes cards to send to friends and relatives that we weren't able to see in person. And since the masks are a separate stamp and die, I will use these bears for many years to come as well!

Dare 2B Artzy release several amazing new slimline dies this year, (with more to come in 2021!) This Slimline Honeycomb die was one of my favorites!

Not only was this one of my favorite D2BA cards of the year, it was one of my favorite holiday cards of the season! Isn't this polar bear with the penguin riding on his head adorable?! The stamp set is called Just Chillin', and it's a great set to take us right through the new year!

I'm wishing you all a happy holiday season and I hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe. By this time next year, I hope to be hugging you all in person!

There's still time to enter this month's challenge on the Dare 2B Artzy blog. Enter your "Holiday Fun" card for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!

Thanks for visiting, and have a great day!
See you in 2021!

You are Beautiful!

 Hi Artzy friends -

I am sharing another card today made with some new Dare 2B Artzy products that you are going to love!

I used several dies from the Wavy Slimline Framelits dies set to create the background panel, the teal frame, and the wavy inner sentiment panel.

This set has loads of possibilities for your slimline cards!

My background panel was created with paper from the All the Buzz collection. These papers work beautifully for summer projects, but also are great for many of your fall projects too.

I created my own wavy background panel for the sentiment by stamping the image from the Fruit Loop stamp set randomly over the entire piece, with an embossing ink to create a subtle watermarked look.
I then heat embossed my sentiment, and a few solid and outline "loops" with gold embossing powder.

I added some champagne colored sequins and covered over the center portion of the card, inside the popped up frame, with a piece of die cut acetate, creating a "faux shaker".

I hope you'll take a look at all the fun new Dare 2B Artzy products, and keep your eye out for additional items to come!

Please join our monthly challenge for September. The theme this month is "your favorite color", and all participants will be entered for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Be a Fruit Loop!

 Hi Artzy friends -

Dare 2B Artzy has a fun new stamp set that I want to share with you today.

It's called Fruit Loop, and it's got some great sentiments, as well as an image that can be used to create some fun texture on your project. (I will use the image on a future card.)

I cut several circle frames in various sizes and colors using the Double Dot Circle framelits.
The colors I used all coordinate with this beautiful floral patterned paper from the All the Buzz collection.
I stamped my chosen sentiment from the set on a white circle cut to fit inside one of the frames.
Simple but eye-catching; I hope you like it!

You can find all of the new Dare 2B Artzy products here.

Please join in on our monthly challenge for September. The theme this month is "Favorite Color."
